Usually, yes. Retrofitting a battery to an existing solar system is often straightforward - we'll check your current inverter and consumer unit to confirm what's compatible before quoting.
How long do batteries last?
Most batteries come with a manufacturer warranty around the 10-year mark, with a useful life often extending beyond that. Exact figures vary by manufacturer and model, which we'll cover when discussing options for your system.
Will a battery keep my power on during a cut?
Not always - most battery systems are designed to store solar generation for later use, not as emergency backup during a power cut. If backup power matters to you, tell us at survey stage so we can discuss systems designed with that capability.
Do I need solar panels to have a battery?
No. A battery can also charge from a cheap overnight electricity tariff even without solar panels, though pairing one with solar generally gets you the most value from the system.
